M&A in the tourism IT sector: Amadeus leads in buyouts

Amadeus, which has traditionally offered solutions for airlines, has spent more than €1.2 billion since 2013 in purchase of companies to diversify its business and reduce its dependence on the airline business. In 2015, Amadeus acquired 4 companies to strengthen its position in the airport, hotel and travel agency travel sectors.

Compra de AirIt Services para crecer en EEUU en el mercado de los aeropuertos

La operación se enmarca así dentro de la estrategia con la que la compañía que preside Luis Maroto planea diversificar su negocio: hoteles, ferrocarril, aeropuertos, 'travel intelligence', pagos y 'new media'.

Con esta compra Amadeus refuerza sus soluciones para aeropuertos en EEUU, una región clave en este mercado en el que tenía poca presencia. 30 de los 50 aeropuertos más frecuentados de EE.UU. utilizan las soluciones AirIT, entre ellos los de Atlanta, Dallas, Los Ángeles, Miami y Charlotte.

“Ya en 2014 Amadeus compró UFIS Airport Solutions, con sede central en Singapur, que presta servicios en aeropuertos de todo el mundo, especialmente en Asia, Oriente Medio y Europa y ahora quiere reforzar su presencia en EEUU” comenta Diego Gutierrez de Abra-Invest.

Amadeus compra  el 24,9% Hiberus Travel 10 solutions en el mercado de alquiler vacacional

Hiberus Travel IO Solutions es propietaria de Travelio, una de las plataformas de gestión para producto vacacional tecnológicamente más avanzadas del mercado.

Con esta operación, Hiberus Travel IO Solutions y Amadeus se comprometen además  a la inversión continua en I+D+i, para desarrollar una plataforma multicanal que integre productos y servicios de múltiples operadores y permita a las agencias de viaje construir una oferta a la carta y distribuirla a sus clientes.

Amadeus compra Itesso para ampliar su oferta para hoteles

Itesso BVm es  un proveedor de sistemas de gestión de la propiedad (PMS) en la nube con sede en Holanda.

Amadeus ya compró en 2013  Newmarket  especialista en grupos y eventos con sede en EEUU para crecer en el mercado de oferta para los hoteles.Además en este campo está trabajando también con  InterContinental Hotel Group para desarrollar un sistema de reserva de huéspedes (GRS) de nueva generación.

El acuerdo con  Itesso le acerca a su objetivo de unificación de de reserva centralizada (CRS), sistemas de gestión de la propiedad (PMS), sistemas de gestión de ingresos (RMS), ventas y catering y otros sistemas en una plataforma de modelo de comunidad basado en la nube, que se centra por completo en la experiencia del huésped.

Amadeus compra Navitaire

Amadeus ha comprado a Accenture  su filial Navitaire por €750M que proporciona soluciones que permiten a las aerolíneas generar ingresos y racionalizar costes en las áreas de reservas, ventas de servicios adicionales, programas de fidelización de clientes, gestión y contabilidad de los ingresos y "business intelligence".
