In August 2022, the sale of Viube Foods to the potato French fries and snacks manufacturer, Apex Group, was closed. Baker Tilly Corporate Finance advised Viube Foods in this transaction.
With this new acquisition, Apex Group will seek to reaffirm its growth strategy and successfully position itself in Catalonia, where it will have its seventh production plant.

Vendor: Viube Foods

Located in Girona (Spain), Viube Foods, known for his brand Mikso, is a young company dedicated to the production and marketing of handmade vegetable chips made with 100% natural ingredients.
The Mikso brand, with a Mediterranean seal, prioritizes working with local vegetables, carefully choosing the varieties that can be grown according to the climate, and thus ensuring the quality of the product and the environmental and economic impact on the territory where it operates.

Investor: Apex Group

The Apex Group started as Aperitivos y Extrusionados and was established in 1983, but even before that, in 1979, it operated under the Aspil brand. The Group has grown after the acquisitions of other brands such as: Frutos secos Abrego, the integration with Borges Group, the incorporation of Traves, Papas Vicente Vidal, Aperitivos gus and many others... Right now the acquisition of 100% of Viube foods is the ninth operation since 2010. In addition to the expansion of the portfolio of subcategories in the world of salty snacks, where Apex is the first company with Spanish capital, the Navarre-based company continues to invest in increasing its production capacity in order to respond to the excellent growth of its sales.

Baker Tilly has advised the shareholders of Viube Foods in the negotiations with the Apex Group team. Alex Wendt, a partner specializing in the sector, led the team.  Baker Tilly Corporate Finance has a team specialised in Tech M&A and has consistently ranked in the top 10 of the global small and medium-sized companies market. "This transaction is a great opportunity for Viube Foods to join a group like Apex and thus accelerate inorganic growth in Spain," said Alex Wendt.
