"Analytics is a fundamental element of the SMAC model, providing the practical insight essential to driving innovation in the organisation and gaining a competitive advantage from disparate data," Logicalis says. As evidence of this, in May, both the Spanish and UK divisions made acquisitions in the big data analytics sector.

Logicalis Spain is a system integrator whose areas of activity are focused on providing solutions to the market in areas such as technology and infrastructure, service management and security management. To this end, it counts on the main vendors in the market as partners, such as IBM, Cisco, VMware or Red Hatamong others.

This company, which employs 150 people in Spain, bought in May LantaresLantares is a leading company in the implementation of strategic solutions for corporate performance management (CPM) and information management, both on-premise and in the cloud. Lantares has, among others, the highest IBM Analytics certifications in Spain and has a remarkable reputation in a sector with strong growth expectations.

In addition to strengthening the commercial capacity of Locicalis, this acquisition also means that Logicalis' current portfolio of services such as security and the internet of things will be reinforced with a business analytics and big data layer that will increase its capacity to integrate added value for customers. In addition, with this acquisition Logicalis replicates in Spain the Business Analytics consulting and business competencies it already has in the UK.
