Dassault Systems provides companies and individuals with the virtual universes needed to design sustainable innovations. This French company, which in 2015 ranked second in the list of European companies in the software market after SAP, has realised 16 projects in the field of virtualisation. acquisitions since 2010. In July, it announced the purchase of two companies: Cst and Ortems.

Dassault acquires CST to expand its portfolio of multi-physics simulation industry solutions

CST is the leader in electromagnetics and electronics simulation technology. This software is used by designers and engineers at more than 2,000 high-tech companies in the transportation, aerospace, defence and energy industries to evaluate the effects of electromagnetic fields in the design process of electronic systems.

With this purchase, which took place last July, for a value of €220M, they reinforce their portfolio of solutions that enable the creation and analysis of high-fidelity electromagnetic models in electronic systems such as antennas, electrical and electromechanical devices at different frequencies and scale lengths.

In 2015, the company's clients included the following companies Airbus Defence and Space, Bosch Group, Frauscher Sensor Technology and Sirona.

Dassault buys Ortems to expand its 3D manufacturing services

 The also French Ortems,  designs collaborative manufacturing and dispatch planning software.

Alongside its 3DExperience platform, Dassault offers manufacturers (including the automotive sector) supply chain planning and optimisation software services through its Delmia Quintiq brand, this purchase would complement that brand and increase its offering in digital manufacturing operations and supply chain planning.

Ortems software is used to manage 'smart factories', where a synchronised manufacturing computer system helps link virtual design and physical production.

Dassault growth through acquisitions

Dassault has made a total of 13 acquisitions in the last 6 years to expand its solutions in the field of data virtualisation. Among the companies acquired we find different nationalities to provide services to very different sectors such as automotive, energy or business management services.
