Technology consultancy CMC buys Prot-on and Daknosys to deliver better cybersecurity and data analytics solutions

CMC plans to integrate both products into its digital transformation, IoT and cybersecurity platforms to support enterprise projects to transform their business models in the new digital environment.

CMC is a Spanish Multinational Group dedicated to Management Consulting, Technology and Outsourcing. The firm is experiencing growth above the average of the fastest growing consulting firms in our country. In 2015 it had a turnover of €31.5M, which means a growth of 31% compared to the turnover of 2014.

Of the total turnover obtained in 2015, 17% corresponds to the international market, which means that CMC Group has managed to triple, in just one year, its business beyond, thanks to the organic growth and via acquisitions.

According to Jaime Hortelano, CEO of CMC Group, "For CMC, multinational positioning is very important as it is key to be able to serve global customers globally, as well as to be in as many markets as possible in order to have greater sales capabilities and obtain a greater and faster return on our investments in R&D&I", he concludes.

"The firm's international growth strategy focuses on growth in Southern Europe and Latin America and to this end it has been making several acquisitions in the technology field. In Latin America it bought SOA Professional in Mexico and a company in Colombia. In Southern Europe, it bought CFS consulting in Italy", says Diego Gutiérrez, corporate finance expert at Abra-Invest.

About Prot-on

Prot-Onis a Spanish startup that allows you to encrypt files - texts, MS Office documents, PDFs, photos, videos, audios, etc. -, manage access permissions, and record all the activities carried out with protected files, making it possible to determine who, when, from where and for what purpose accesses a given file.

Founded in 2010 in Madrid, the company received a €1.57M round in 2011 and its technology was awarded Best Security Solution at the 2014 European IT Software Excellence Awards.

CMC and Prot-On have already been collaborating for three years.

About Daknosys

 Daknosys allows business users to make better decisions about their business through the analytical integration, on the same screen, of dashboards, geographical analysis, reports and mathematical or text algorithms, which allow behavioural patterns, trends and business forecasts to be obtained.

Daknosys had been in insolvency proceedings since December 2016. The company, based in Catalonia, was owned by the owners of Almirall.

With this purchase, CMC Group strengthens its capabilities in big data analytics.
