The case of Beyond Meat, a company very much in the news due to its recent IPO and its revaluation of more than 600%, is noteworthy. We analyse this industry, as well as its biggest and most important players.

With a market capitalisation of more than 10,000 M$, the company has appreciated by more than 600% since its IPO just under 3 months ago.

Dedicated to the production of products that simulate meat from one of the three largest manufacturers of such products in the United States (US), and the first to go public.

Beyond Meat specialises in selling to supermarkets, supplying them with hamburgers, sausages and other "meat" products made entirely from vegetables, but with the colour, texture and taste of meat.

Since 2016 their sales have increased fivefold and they expect to achieve a total of 210M$ in sales this year, which will lead them to reach their break-even point.


A direct competitor of Beyond Meat, this company is also dedicated to the preparation of vegan meat products. Their business model is based on sales to restaurants and they are recently exploring the possibility of also offering fish made from vegetables.

Still private, Impossible Foods recently closed its fifth round of funding of 300 M$, bringing its valuation to close to 2,000 M$.


Deliveroo is a food delivery company that offers fast, transparent and reliable delivery where the customer can follow the steps of their order from their phone.

It has a presence in a wide range of countries including the UK, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Australia, Dubai and Singapore, among others.
