Contenur: receives 21 MM from venture capital for international expansion

Contenur is dedicated to the market in waste containers, litter bins, playgrounds, street furniture and services, contributing to the improvement of the environment and the quality of life in our cities. The Miura funds Private equity and Demeter Partners have contributed €21 million to the company for 65% of the capital in an SBO-style transaction.

"Demeter is a fund specialising in the environmental sector and this specialisation is an important contribution to the company's expansion plans. Contenur is a company that already has a very significant presence in international markets with offices in Poland, Portugal, France, UK, Italy, Morocco and Brazil. Lately, given Spain's growth expectations, funds value this orientation abroad very positively, especially if the company is not in its early stages", analyses Diego Gutierrez, an expert in SME financing at ABRA INVEST.

Pontia Capital, the most active fund

Pontia is the venture capital fund of the SEDESA group and has carried out its first transaction in Ecuador, with the entry into the capital of Energy Ecuadora company that develops and manages renewable energy projects from Quito. The entry of Pontia Capital will allow the company to grow in Spain, where it has recently opened an office in Valencia, with the aim of developing projects mainly related to solar energy.

It has also entered into the waste recovery sector, with participation in Recimed. The company recovers all types of waste, both industrial and urban, with the criteria of reducing, reusing and recycling.

"In addition, there has been an operation in the sector in a seed stage company, ValresAngels Capital (Juan Roig's fund) and Pablo Bordils have participated with 1 million euros for a majority position. Valres is a COMPREHENSIVE OPERATOR focused on the healthcare sector, offering its services and collaboration to hospitals, clinics, veterinarians and laboratories, as well as other healthcare waste operators and managers," says Diego Gutiérrez.

Advanced data anlytics is a weapon". Intelfin is an artificial intelligence tool we use for investing and creating value in SMEs through competitive analytics and the enterprise environment.

IntelFin consists of a cognitive system, which, through the application of advanced analytical technologies, facilitates the automation of investment and financing decisions in the field of non-listed companies and especially SMEs in high-growth sectors.

The information related to these companies is characterized by their lack of transparency and heterogeneity; thus, it is necessary to develop an advanced analysis which is as much predictive as prescriptive and is developed in a natural language custom, suitable to obtain greater clarity and knowledge of the investment scope.

The IntelFin system focuses especially on analyzing the variables that define and influence the competitive environment of a sector and the positioning of a company, analyzing their influence on future value creation. Therefore, IntelFin supports strategic decision-making to senior management by resolving questions such as:

¿What are my competitors' priorities, strategies and expansion plans? Who's my competition? Which competitor is most likely to grow at a higher rate?
Which areas of activity/business models will receive the most investment? Which sectors are most attractive to investors?
Which companies are going to experience the most growth in the near future? Which companies are most likely to receive investment or be acquired?
