Odilothe Spanish startup pioneer in the Digital Content as a Service (DCaaS) concept, has closed a new investment round of 6 million euros.
The operation has been led by Swanlaab Venture FactoryThe company has also added new international investors such as Endeavor Catalyst and has the support of CDTI and its current investors KIBO VC, JME VC, Active VP, who are once again backing the company.
Odilo is a Spanish startup and one of the few Edtech that exist in Spain, i.e. a technology-based company focused on the world of education.
More specifically, it offers a marketplace where any customer can acquire digital content to offer to its users on a loan, rental or subscription basis, making it the first digital marketplace for B2B. Odilo is currently trusted by more than 6,200 innovative institutions on all continents and works with 5,300 content providers in 43 languages.
The company has its headquarters and technology development centre in Cartagena and has offices in Madrid, London and New York. It currently has a team of 120 people.
In the words of its founder and CEO Rodrigo Rodriguez "Odilo's technology allows any organisation or company to manage digital content created by themselves or by any digital solutions provider without having to make large investments in technology or sign multiple agreements with content providers, paying only for what they consume".
6 million in financing is aimed at accelerating the company's technological development, continuing its international expansion and the launch of new products, as well as strengthening its operations in order to meet the demand for its solutions in the European, Latin American, North American and Oceanian markets.
Javier Torremocha, founding partner of Kibo Ventures, indicated that "Odilo is present in a market with very high growth potential" and that "it fits perfectly with the investment criteria we look for in the companies we invest in: size of the opportunity, disruptive industry, global ambition and quality of the team".
