IMS went public in 2014 and has started to buy technology companies in the healthcare sector in order to offer a comprehensive service in all the geographical areas in which it operates. In December 2015 it bought the Spanish company Iasist and in 2016 it bought a company in Canada, another in Dubai and another in the US.

IASIST is a company with headquarters in Barcelona and offices in Madrid, Lisbon and Chile. Leader in Benchmarking of health services in the countries where it operates. The company's value proposition is to be able to provide healthcare providers and funders with risk adjustments and own predictive values to evaluate and improve their results.

"Founded in 1989, Iasist had been owned by Axio Data since 2009, which has helped it expand in Latin America. This week we learned that Axio has received an offer for the sale of Vidal groupanother group company, for €100m," says Diego Gutierrez, an expert in corporate finance.

In 1963, it started its operations in Spain with an office in Madrid and another in Barcelona. It currently has a market production and analysis centre and an electronic data processing centre, IMS Production Hubs, both in Madrid.

Objective of the acquisition: to grow in the Spanish market.

With this purchase, IMS Health will be able to offer more services to its providers and funders in Spain, as it already does in other countries, and incorporates highly qualified professionals and experts in clinical data processing and management.

In addition, IMS Health takes a further step in its strategy to provide its clients with a more comprehensive information, consultancy and technology service, facilitating its clients' decision making by providing evidence-based results.
