Dentro de la sanidad digital, los inversores se interesan por la transparencia de los costes

venture capitalEn USA el acceso a la sanidad puede llegar a millones de nuevos consumidores con la aprobación de la ley "Affordable Care" el próximo año. Los inversores han apostado por "start-ups" que  ofrecen transparencia en los costes sanitarios, cruciales para mejorar la eficiencia de los pacientes, los proveedores, los hospitales y compañías de seguros.

 

400$M para 49 operaciones de financiación

Según CBinsights, desde el año 2010 los Venture capital han invertido más de 400$M en 49 transacciones. La mayoría de las operaciones han ido a empresas en etapa madura o "Later-stage" como puede ser el caso de Castlight Health que ha levantado 160$M entre diferentes inversores entre los que destacan U.S. Venture Partners y Venrock"Castlight está revolucionando la transparencia de costes en el sector. Ofrece un aplataforma con toda la información sobre los medicamentos, sus costes, beneficios y alternativas." comenta Diego Gutierrez experto en Finanzas corporativas en ABRA INVEST.

Otro caso relevante es el comparador de seguros médicos Gohealth que levantó 50$M de Norwest Venture Partners en el 2012.

El 47% de las operaciones en inversiones semilla

Aunque el volumen de inversión esté orientada a empresa en fases avanzadas, el número de operaciones se concentra principalmente en startups en fase semilla. En el 2012 el 47% de las operaciones se realizaron en fase seed o angel con fondos como Rock Health, 500 Startups y StartUp Health.En el 2013 se aguidza esta tendencia, siendo el 67% de las operaciones en fases A o semilla como por ejmplo  Maxwell Health Lerer Ventures-backed) and PokitDok, backed by New Atlantic Ventures and Rogers Venture Partners.

Promocionesfarma, un caso español en el sector

PromocionesFarma es una web de ofertas online donde ofrece a sus clientes importantes descuentos en productos de salud y belleza que se recogen en la farmacia local más conveniente sin gastos de envío. "De momento se está dedicando a productos de parafarmacia, pero si la legislación cambia a su favor podríamos ver en el futuro vendiendo medicamentos" comenta Diego Gutierrez.

A principios del 2013 recibió una segunda ronda de financiación por un valor de 1,5 millones de Euros, con lo que acumula una inversión total de 3 millones de Euros en el último año y medio. Esta segunda ronda ha sido liderada por Kibo Ventures, y complementada por VitaminaK y los inversores que ya formaban parte de la empresa.
