Accenture buys Sentelis

Accenture is a professional services company, providing services and solutions in strategy, digital consulting, technology and operations. It is currently based in Dublin, Ireland. Through this post, Baker Tilly wants to highlight the great activity it is having during this year 2020 in terms of company acquisitions. It has carried out exactly seven purchase of companies.

The companies acquired by Accenture were: Sentelis, PLM Systems, Gekko, Yesler, ESR Labs, Context Information Security and Icon Integration.

This post will focus mostly on the first two.

Accenture acquires Sentelis

Sentelis is an independent company specialising in data consulting and engineering. Based in France, Sentelis specialises in the design and large-scale deployment of data management and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, which is very much in line with Accenture's core practice. It has more than 50 professionals with extensive experience in the field of data and AI.

This expertise provided by Sentelis together with Accenture's knowledge of large-scale global projects around AI and Machine Learning will provide the European market with a differentiated range of services. At the same time, as far as clients are concerned, this union will provide them with a very strong support in terms of deploying AI in all their activities. On the other hand, it is the perfect opportunity to strengthen as a company in the sector.

PLM Systems

PLM Systems, based in Turin, Italy, specialises in the design and construction of product lifecycle management information systems. Its customers are Italian and international companies in the automotive, industrial equipment, fashion, aerospace and defence industries. The product lifecycle management systems they provide to their customers help companies manage all relevant information about a product from its creation to its disposal. Companies can use them in engineering and other functions to innovate and manage new products.

For its part, Accenture, thanks to this acquisition, can now help industrial companies make the best use of product data in design, engineering and manufacturing. According to Mauro Marchiaro, managing director of Strategy and Consulting for Accenture in Italy, the PLM System "is going to be a cornerstone for Accenture's leadership advancement in engineering digitalisation services".

In conclusion, thanks to all the acquisitions made this year, Accenture will be boosted and strengthened against its competitors in the services technology sector, and will be able to reach a larger number of clients by offering them the best possible services.

Technology Data Analytics
for M&A
Advanced data anlytics is a weapon". Intelfin is an artificial intelligence tool we use for investing and creating value in SMEs through competitive analytics and the enterprise environment.

IntelFin consists of a cognitive system, which, through the application of advanced analytical technologies, facilitates the automation of investment and financing decisions in the field of non-listed companies and especially SMEs in high-growth sectors.

The information related to these companies is characterized by their lack of transparency and heterogeneity; thus, it is necessary to develop an advanced analysis which is as much predictive as prescriptive and is developed in a natural language custom, suitable to obtain greater clarity and knowledge of the investment scope.

The IntelFin system focuses especially on analyzing the variables that define and influence the competitive environment of a sector and the positioning of a company, analyzing their influence on future value creation. Therefore, IntelFin supports strategic decision-making to senior management by resolving questions such as:

¿What are my competitors' priorities, strategies and expansion plans? Who's my competition? Which competitor is most likely to grow at a higher rate?
Which areas of activity/business models will receive the most investment? Which sectors are most attractive to investors?
Which companies are going to experience the most growth in the near future? Which companies are most likely to receive investment or be acquired?
