Investment in big data analytics companies grew considerably in 2015, when 73 rounds were made for an amount of $$1.8B. In the first half of 2016, investment seems to have fallen a little, with 25 rounds.
Big data and analytics, a sector to invest in?

The majority of the rounds closed in 2016 are early-stage rounds, which shows that this is a sector where innovation is taking place, where there is still a long way to go, and where products are still being tested in the market. However, the fact that renowned investors such as Andreessen Horowitz or Accel Partners, are among the most active investors in the sector, make big data for analytics a sector in which it makes sense to invest.
