The CDTI and support for the development of new drugs.
The CDTI is committed to drug development. In the last three months, several laboratories have received investment from the CDTI to carry out R&D projects. Among the beneficiaries are: Cinfa Laboratories, Liconsa Laboratories and Normon Laboratories. In addition, several companies such as Leadartis have also received funding.
What is the CDTI? What projects does it fund?
The Centre for the Development of Industrial Technology (cdti), part of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, finances innovation and technological development in Spanish companies, with a budget of €1,792 million for 2016.
Each year, there are many different calls and lines of funding within the CDTI, but perhaps the best known is the one dedicated to Research and Development Projects (RDP). Among its strengths are that it is an open call and you can apply at any time, and that it is an instrument that has been around for many years and has changed little, which gives a certain security and confidence to the processes.
The projects have a duration of between 12 and 36 months and a minimum budget of 175,000 euros. The CDTI finances 75% of the amount of the initiative with loans indexed to Euribor and with a repayment period of 10 years.
