Telecoms step up investment through venture capital funds

telecoLa inversión de los venture capital corporativo de las "telecos" están en los niveles  más altos en los últimos 10 años. Han invertido $ 1,64 mil mlns en 145 operaciones desde el inicio de 2012.


34% más anual de dinero invertido en el 2012

Según datos de cbinsights, la inversión de los vehículos de venture capital de las "telecos" crecieron en el año 2012 un 34% con base anual. El número de operaciones creció algo menos un 27% lo que significa que el tamaño medio por operación fue algo superior. La actividad de los venture capital corporativos en el resto de sectores fue inferior (7% de incremento en volumen y 23% en número de operaciones) lo que refleja la intensidad de la actividad en el sector "teleco".

USA, Alemania y Francia lideran el ranking de países con mayor actividad

A pesar de que la inversión de los CVC de las telecos está geográficamente muy dispersa, casi la mitad de las operaciones que se han realizado desde el 2008 han recaído sobre startups norteamericanas. Alemania capturó más del 12% con 25 participaciones casi todas ellas desde "Deutche Telekom’s T-Venture". Francia acaparó el 7% de las operaciones.
