venture capital Venture capital ha invertido $150M desde el 2010 en Baas, la conexión entre aplicaciones móviles y servicios en la nube. Todavía no se han producido muchas ventas en el sector, limitándose solo a las acquisitions más pequeñas.

 

Oportunidad en el sector Baas

A partir del 2010, cuando el sector de la movilidad empezó a crecer de una manera muy rápida, el venture capital vió una oportunidad en las empresas de Baas. Kii respaldado por Fenox venture capital con $7,3M en octubre 2010, Kinvey financiado por Atlas venture con $5M en el 2012, y Firebase by Union Square Ventures y otros con $5,6M en junio 2013. En total las empresas que trabajan en esta actividad han conseguido $ 152M en 36 operaciones desde el 2010.

“Estos sistemas permiten a los desarrrolladores de aplicaciones móviles poder conectar y sincronizar en un único “backend cloud” diversos servicios en cloud en tiempo real permitiendo orientar sus recursos en el desarrollo y no en la infraestructura” comenta Diego Gutierrez de Abra Invest.

M&A en el sector Baas

Tan solo se han realizado 5 operaciones de venta desde el año 2012. Quizá la adquisición más importante ha sido la de la plataforma de apps cloud Parse by Facebook por un total de $90M en abril 2013.La empresa estaba respaldad por el venture capital Ignition Partners.

En Diciembre 2013 Paypal acquired Stackmob, una plataforma Baas respaldada por Trinity Ventures Baselina Ventures.
