M&A en empresas de embutidos para crecer en el mercado americano: Cañigueral y Espuña

Cañigueral compra Far para exportar jamón a EEUU

Cañigueral, empresa cárnica  catalana que cerró el 2015 con unas ventas de € 480M , ha comprado Far Jamón Serrano, una compañía de Les Preses (Garrotxa) con capacidad para producir entre 6.000 y 7.000 jamones a la semana.

Con esta operación, Grup Cañigueral diversifica su negocio y entra en la exportación de jamón curado, con la vista puesta a Estados Unidos. A través de su principal empresa, el matadero Frigorífics Costa Brava, Cañigueral ya suministra jamones en crudo a proveedores que comercializan jamón serrano en Estados Unidos. Ahora, gracias a la adquisición de Far, Cañigueral podrá exportar directamente jamón a Estados Unidos, lo que aportará valor añadido a su actividad internacional.

Far Jamón Serrano mantendrá su autonomía, pero pasará a tener ahora dos gerentes de Grup Cañigueral. Se trata de Joaquim Planagumà, consejero delegado y responsable de producción, y de Lluís Cañigueral, consejero delegado y responsable comercial.

Espuña completa la compra de Pata Negra Jan y se consolida en EEUU y Canadá

Espuña, fabricante de embutidos con  sede en Girona,  compró en Febrero de 2016 la empresa Pata Negra Jan, ,propietaria de la americana Pata Negra LLC,  especializada en la elaboración de embutidos curados, de la que ya poseía un 20%. Espuña avanza así en su objetivo: que en un plazo de 3 años, el 60% de las ventas vengan del mercado internacional.

Espuña agiliza así su entrada en el mercado americano tanto con productos fabricados en la planta de Estados Unidos como a partir de la exportación de los procedentes de España.

Aunque Pata Negra sólo vendía hasta ahora chorizo, pronto ofrecerá también fuet, salchichón o salami, todos fabricados en territorio estadounidense..

El gerente de la compañía, Xavier Espuña, subraya que "el potencial del mercado americanos es enorme" y recuerda que, en un radio de 500 kilómetros alrededor de la planta americana, viven cerca de 120 millones de personas, "un público exigente al que le interesan productos de charcutería tradicional de muy alta calidad".
