Evolución anual de la inversión mundial

2017 ha sido un año muy fuerte en inversión, impulsado por el récord de mega-rondas (rondas de financiación por un importe superior a los $100M) del milenio.

El volumen global de inversión aumentó casi un 50% respecto a 2016, con $164.000M invertidos en 11.042 operaciones. Este número de rondas también es superior al del año pasado, concretamente un 11%, batiendo también el anterior récord alcanzado en 2015 (de 10.102 operaciones).

Analizando las cifras a nivel regional, Norteamérica está a la cabeza de la inversión mundial en 2017, con $74.500M invertidos en 5.365 operaciones. Le siguen Asia con $70.800M en 2.847 rondas de financiación y, muy por debajo de ambas Europa, con $17.600M en 2.483 operaciones.


Evolución trimestral de la inversión mundial

Si estudiamos la evolución de la inversión mundial en los últimos ocho trimestres, podemos comprobar que el volumen de inversión crece, mientras que el número de operaciones se estanca. De la misma forma, la inversión global crece un 5% y el número de rondas baja menos de un 1% en el último trimestre de 2017, con $46.700M invertidos en 2.827 operaciones.

El papel del Venture Capital en la inversión mundial

Las corporaciones, y/o sus divisiones de inversión, han protagonizado un 28% de las rondas en empresas participadas por Venture Capital en el cuarto trimestre de 2017. Si analizamos el año entero, la participación del Venture Capital Corporativo ha alcanzado el 25% del total de operaciones.
