Lincoln Electric Holdings destaca dentro del sector de “Industrial Manufacturing” o industria manufacturera.El sector de la industria manufacturera se dedica a la fabricación de los productos a partir de la materia prima. Como ya comentamos en el   post sobre las tendencias de Inversión en este sector publicado hace unos días, es un mercado que está viviendo un gran crecimiento hoy en día, con más de 465 empresas creadas y más de tres billones de dólares invertidas desde el 2010.


Como adelantábamos, Lincoln Electric Holdings se ha posicionado cómo una de las empresas líderes en el sector y además, ha sido la compañía más activa en adquisiciones de los últimos años, con 20 operaciones de M&A llevadas a cabo.


Lincoln Electric Holdings, Inc (LECO) es es una compañía multinacional especializada en soldaduras y que se dedica a la manufactura y distribución de una gran variedad de equipos, maquinaria y sistemas. La compañía entra en la lista de Fortune 1000, el ranking de las 1000 empresas más grandes de los Estados Unidos por facturación y cuenta con una gran red global de distribución, ya que suministra a mas de 160 países.

Lincoln Electric Holdings cotiza en NASDAQ y hoy en día tiene una capitalización de mercado de 4,5 billones de dólares, con una facturación de 3 billones de dólares en el último ejercicio.


Como ya se ha comentado, Lincoln Electric ha sido la empresa que más adquisiciones ha realizado en la última década.

La última adquisición llevada a cabo ha sido a su vez una de las operaciones más intensas en capital llevadas a cabo con la empresa. Fue en mayo del 2016 y Lincoln Electric adquirió la compañía de telecomunicaciones brasileña Vizient, por un valor total de 58 millones de euros.

Un año antes, en abril del 2015 llevó a cabo otra de las adquisiciones más valoradas de su historia. Compró la empresa estadounidense y distribuidora de piezas de automoción Rimrock por 32 millones de euros.

En febrero de 2014 compró la también brasileña Brastak por un millón y medio de euros, una pequeña operación si la comparamos con las dos posteriores.
