Vente-privee compra a su competidora Privalia

La Francesa Vente-Prive, especializada en  la venta de stocks por internet, ha comprado a su competidor español Privalia, por un precio que aunque no ha sido revelado se estima que ronde los €500M. Esta operación responde al objetivo de  fortalecer su presencia en Francia y España, con la creación de un gigante del comercio electrónico de €2.500M. Con esta operación el gigante galo pretende crecer un 40% a nivel internacional.

Además de en España Privalia está presente en Italia, México y Brasil.

La mayor exits de una startup en España

Esta operación es la exit más grande en la historia de las startups españolas y una de las más grandes a nivel Europeo.
Privalia levantó entre 2006 y 2013 unos €200M de financiación en varias rondas e incluso se planteó salir a bolsa, algo que nunca llegó a ocurrir.

Entre las firmas de capital riesgo que invirtieron en Privalia y que ahora con la compra por parte de Vente-Privee han salido de la empresa encontramos,  Cabiedes & Partners, Caixa Capital Risc, Nauta Capital, Highland Capital Partners, SIndex Ventures, Sofina, Insight Venture PartnersGeneral Atlantic.

 Otras operaciones españolas de outlet online

Además de la venta de Privalia, el mercado Español del Outlet online ya había conocido anteriormente una operación parecida, en 2010 Amazon compró la española BuyVip, que contaba con el apoyo de 3i, Grupo Intercom (creador de negocios como Infojobs o Softonic), Debaeque, Active Venture Partners, Digital Assets Deployment (DAD) y Kennet Capital Partners.

Además de Privalia, Vente-privee también ha comprado la empresa Suiza Eboutic.ch.

Esta empresa fue co-fundada en 2007 por Arthur Dauchez y Laure de Gennes, quienes siguen siendo los accionistas minoritarios del grupo Maüs Frères.

Para Jacques-Antoine Granjon, presidente y fundador de vente-privee.com, “esta nueva expansión refuerza la búsqueda de nuestro desarrollo activo en Europa, iniciado en 2015 con la toma de una participación mayoritaria de la compañía belga, vente-exclusive. Además de  en el negocio del outlet Vente Privee ha realizado otras adquisiciones como Misterfly, Vente-Exclusive o el teatro parisino Weezevent.
