Lingokids, startup española que desarrolla servicios de enseñanza de idiomas para niños de 2 a 6 años, ha cerrado una nueva ronda de financiación de 4 millones de dólares liderada por los fondos de inversión Holtzbrinck Ventures y JME Venture Capital.

Lingokids, es una plataforma española  para enseñar idiomas a niños de 2 a 6 años. A día de hoy cuenta con una ventana de trabajadores en España, 2 en EEUU y 1 en Ucrania. A medio plazo, la aplicación pretende añadir el chino y el castellano a la colección de idiomas que se pueden aprender a distancia.

Lingokids, está experimentando un crecimiento exponencial desde el 2016, en especial tras lanzar el sistema de recomendación de contenidos al estilo Netflix y el servicio Lingokids Live que ofrece clases online en directo con educadores nativos. Además, Lingokids ha anunciado un acuerdo con Oxford, por el cual los usuarios tienen acceso a todos los contenidos de la editorial desde la 'app'.

Pasaron por la conocida aceleradora americana, 500 Startups, durante seis meses, logrando, a partir de ahí, una financiación de $1M.

Sobre la ronda recibida

Esta última ronda de inversión, de $4M, ha  liderada por los fondos de inversión Holtzbrinck Ventures y JME Venture Capital, alemán y español respectivamente, y uno de los mayores fondos de inversión de Silicon Valley, Bessemer Ventures Partners.

Es la primera vez que Holtzbrink y Bessemer invierten en España y lo hacen para que Lingokids continúe con su crecimiento. Es especialmente relevante el caso de Bessemer, uno de los fondos más longevos de Estados Unidos y que ha invertido en LinkedIn, Skype o Pinterest.

“Esta nueva ronda de financiación nos permitirá expandir nuestro catálogo de oferta, crecer en nuevas regiones y alcanzar nuestro objetivo: que 15 millones de familias disfruten nuestros servicios a finales del 2018" ha anunciado el consejero delegado de Lingokids, Cristóbal Viedama.
