Warburg Pincus se ha impuesto a PAI Partners y Bridgepoint y se ha hecho con la empresa española Accelya, para crear un gigante en el mundo del outsourcing en el sector turístico.

Sobre Accelya

Accelya  es una compañía española con sede en Barcelona, que  ayuda a más de 200 compañías aéreas a optimizar los procesos financieros, proporcionando servicios de contabilidad y administración en general para gestionar mejor los costes, los riesgos, las pérdidas de ingresos y los flujos de efectivo.

En el 2007, Accelya  fue comprada  por el fondo de 'private equity' francés Chequers Capital. Lo que favoreció a que en  el 2010 Accelya  comprara  el 36% de la consultora tecnológica India Kale consulting. Kale es una de las pocas medianas empresas indias de TI que atienden a clientes en las aerolíneas, el sector logístico y la industria de viajes.

 Actualmente, La compañía factura cerca de $ 130M (sus cifras las expresa en la moneda estadounidense) y tiene un beneficio de explotación de casi 50 millones. En consecuencia, el valor de la totalidad de la sociedad, que opera en ocho países, con una plantilla de 2.000 personas, ronda los 600 millones de dólares, unos 500 millones de euros.

Después de un competido proceso por adquirir Accelya, en el que han participado varios de los pesos pesados del capital riesgo internacional, el fondo estadounidense Warburg Pincus ha conseguido imponerse a los otros dos rivales que pasaron a la puja final, PAI Partners y Bridgepoint.

El precio de la compra ronda los €650M, cifra mayor de la que se barajaba en primer momento, por la oportunidad que para Warburg Pincus supone la empresa. Warburg Pincus controla desde 2014 uno de los operadores líderes de la industria de servicios de software y tecnología para la aviación mundial, Mercator. La integración de Accelya con Mercator tiene sinergias basadas  en la integración de capacidades, que pueden compensarán el sobreprecio pagado actualmente.

La empresa resultante es un proveedor mundial líder de soluciones basadas en tecnología para aerolíneas, agencias de viajes y agentes de transporte. La empresa fruto de la integración contará con unos ingresos anuales proforma de más de 200 millones de USD y con una capacidad significativa para invertir en productos y tecnología a fin de seguir siendo punta de lanza en innovación y calidad de servicio.
