FOnd-ICO Global y su impacto en el futuro del capital riesgo

Los números no son buenos: una caída del 31% en el volumen y del 15% en el número de operaciones. ¿Conseguirá Fond-ICO Global incrementar estas cifras en el 2014 y siguientes años?


¿Qué es Fond-ICO Global?

Según la propia Entidad, Fond-ICO Global, Inscrito en la CNMV desde el pasado 24 de mayo de 2013, es el primer "Fondo de Fondos" público de capital riesgo que se crea en España, dotado con €1.200M, con el objetivo de promover la creación de fondos de capital riesgo de gestión privada, que realicen inversiones en empresas españolas en todas sus fases de desarrollo. Este Fondo de Fondos será el catalizador de la creación de más de 40 nuevos fondos privados de capital riesgo, movilizando un total aproximado de €3.000M.

Impacto futuro en el crecimiento del capital riesgo

“El ICO no es el inversor mayoritario, si no que obliga a que inversores privados aporten el 60-70% restante de cada fondo. Por tanto, en la primera convocatoria cerrada a finales del 2013 se atrajeron un total de €685M una cifra muy significativa si tenemos en cuenta que el capital riesgo nacional movilizó €403M en el 2011 y €448M en el 2012. Esto hace prever que el volumen de los próximos años vaya a aumentar significativamente las cifras del sector precedentes” analiza Diego Gutierrez de Abra Invest.

Una primera convocatoria con €189M en dic-13 y una próxima en febrero 2014

En esta primera convocatoria  a la que se han presentado 23 ofertas, 11 de venture capital y 12 de capital expansión, por un importe global de €581M. Se han elegido tres fondos para venture capital: Adara Ventures Partners IIAmbar Capital y Expansión y Suma Capital, y otros tres para capital expansión : Corpfin Capital AsesoresDiana capital Portobelo Capital Gestión.
A los fondos de expansión se les ha adjudicado 150M €, mientras que la cantidad total adjudicada al Venture Capital es de 39 M €.
Para la segunda convocatoria, prevista para el 21 de febrero de 2014, el ICO mantendrá el ámbito de inversión de la primera. El presidente del ICO ha insistido en que el proceso de selección se realizará a través de convocatorias periódicas siguiendo los principios de publicidad, concurrencia, igualdad y transparencia.
