EQT toma el control de Idealista

EQT Partners es un grupo de inversión sueco que cuenta con una veintena de fondos de capital riesgo invertidos en empresas no cotizadas, invirtiendo en compañías pequeñas y medianas a través de fondos de capital riesgo o fondos patrimoniales, fundamentalmente en Startups o con necesidad de fuerte financiación.

EQT ha tomado el control de Idealista tras adquirir una participación en torno al 85% del capital inmobiliario, realizando una transacción que supera los 200 millones de euros. Lo que supone, hasta la fecha, la mayor adquisición de una compañía digital ocurrida en España.

Idealista es una compañía española fundada en el año 2000, ofreciendo a través de Internet un servicio de portal inmobiliario en España, Italia y Portugal. Siendo España el Marketplace líder de la compraventa y alquiler de viviendas. Además, cuenta con aproximadamente 38 millones de visitantes mensuales en España, Italia y Portugal.

El modelo de negocio de Idealista se focaliza en los anuncios clasificados, negocios vinculados al sector inmobiliario, como el servicio de 'Big Data' (reforzado tras la compra el año pasado de la startup TerceroB por casi 6 millones) o el análisis del riesgo de morosidad en el alquiler. Logrando un beneficio neto en 2019 de 23,3 millones.

Los principales inversores de Idealista en los últimos años han sido: Tiger Capital (22%), Kutxabank (14%), Bonsai Venture Capital (10,7%), además del equipo fundador conformado por Jesús Encinar, Fernando Encinar y César Oteyza.

Idealista seguirá contando con el equipo gestor fundador -Jesús Encinar, Fernando Encinar y César Oteiza- aunque haciendo una apuesta clara por la digitalización de la economía y por un mercado vigoroso en el mundo de la vivienda.

El fondo sueco EQT, quiere impulsar y acelerar el crecimiento de Idealista aprovechando la experiencia tecnológica y digital interna de EQT, así como su presencia internacional y su red de asesores. Logrando aumentar su penetración en los mercados estratégicos y fortalecer su posicionamiento como líder de mercado y plataforma online de referencia para anuncios clasificados inmobiliarios en el sur de Europa.
