Geopost, the French logistics giant that owns Spain's Seur and has annual sales of more than €23 billion, has acquired the 100% of the startup Stuart to accelerate its growth.

About Stuart

 Founded in 2015, Stuart is a platform, which connects businesses with local couriers, allowing any business to ship anything, anytime. Through the API, eCommerce platforms can offer their customers a faster and cheaper checkout solution.

Currently, Stuart, operates in three countries (France, Spain, UK) and five cities in Europe (Paris, Barcelona, ??London, Lyon and Madrid) and already has more than 500 active clients, including major accounts such as Carrefour, Just Eat, Sainsbury's or Burger King.

In May 2015, the company closed a €22M Series A funding round, led by GeoPost The capitalisation obtained is being the basis for the growth of the team and the acquisition of new users in the company's main markets, as well as contributing to the international expansion of the company, from its headquarters in Barcelona.

Geopost is the express delivery company of the Geopost Group. La Poste, which groups together its subsidiaries in France and the rest of the world. It is active in more than 40 countries, 26 of which are in the European Union, and in Spain Geopost has 68% of Seur.

Geopost is pursuing a policy of growth through acquisitions. Among the European companies it has bought are Siódemka in Poland and the British company wnDirect. In Japan, GeoPost has an alliance with Japan Post, which allows it to integrate the capital of the Lenton Group alongside it. This alliance allows GeoPost to strengthen its position in Asia.

On GeoPost's purchase of Stuart

Stuart complements the value chain of the subsidiaries of GeoPost: Chronopost, DPD, SEUR and Pickup. Adapting to changing consumption patterns in dense urban areas.

Diego Magdelénat and Paul-Ambrose Archambeaud, the founders of Pickupanother startup acquired by GeoPost in 2009, will take over the chairmanship of Stuart.
