Success stories from the participation of a fund from the Basque Country: Ticketbits and Enigmedia
In this first half of the year we have also met Basque companies, which started a few years ago with the support of Basque funds and which have now received larger rounds and have expanded internationally.
Ticketbit is a clear example. The online ticketing company closed a round in 2009 in which Seed Capital Bizkaia participated. After closing larger rounds of up to €5M over the next 5 years, in 2016 it was sold to the giant Ebay for a price of $165M.
Another success story is Enigmedia, a young cybersecurity company that started out with a stake held by Seed Guipuzkoa and thanks to the Basque Government's entrepreneurship grants and has just closed a €1.5M round led by Alma Mundi Innvierte Fund.
